  "Village Id, I'm here because I want to be. The Watchtower is not the master over my faith. Jehovah gave me free will and I use it." They aren't the masters of your Faith! If they tell you not to come here they obviously want to be the masters of your faith. Just tell them you're here and see where that will take you.

  So do both Liberal and Fundamentalist spiritualty. They simply pick and choose different portions of the Bible.

  Liberals ignore the moral depravity of their Bible. American Fundamentalists ignore other scriptures such as Acts 2:45, Matthew 5:5, Matthew 25:33-45 and so forth.

  You're all under the same umbrella.

  "The biblical test for knowing God [as opposed to imagining that we know him] seems to be continued fruit of his presence. The fruit is proof the faith is (was) real."

  This "knowing" is all in your brain Perry and nowhere else. We are hardwired for 'spirituality' (as an evolutionary way of bonding ourselves to the tribe). It is a way of trying to understand the world whether it be right or wrong.

  Carl Sagan was a wonderful example of atheist spirituality. He reverenced the Universe.

  The Dalai Lama is an example of Buddhist spirituality who said that if science were to contradict something that Buddhism taught he would choose the science.

  Christianity is basically a submission ritual - also hardwired into our brain - where you get rewarded by submitting yourself to a deity. According to Christian thought it doesn't even matter how moral a person you are. Don't believe in your Jesus you're toast.

  when the elders visited us last week, they also discussed my father.

  my mother called them about him.

  Of course they can disfellowship him and they should. You should consider the option of a separation for your mother and even a court order.

  this was the reason that our 12 year old son gave us for wanting to be baptized.

  my wife and i actually agreed that he should wait a little longer, thank god!

  I haven't read the whole article but I know that neurologists claim that our brains are predisposed to having spiritual experiences - not necessarily belief in a god. We also have predispositions to superstition - like yours. It is an artefact that arose from several hundred thousand years of the brains evolution not a gift from 'God'.

  "RealWitness, there are less than a handful of real Witnesses here, me being one of them, and the admins are not Witnesses."

  And the question that all real Witnesses never answer is, "why are you here where the Watchtower bans you from going to?"
